As with most printers, it took some time and attention for configuring and deploying the first Acer laptop Vista. No problem, just the usual boring tutorial. Put the drivers in a second HP laptop Vista was a breeze. Sleep (off) at a desk and family turn on and connect their laptops when they want to print or scan. It's easy, it works by Mike Scotese Simple setup, easy to use. Scanner using the XP utility covers perfectly. Printing as expected, rarely jams. He does everything you expect. Heaney This multifunction laser was purchased for sale and the price was worth it. It prints and copies faster and the output of the text is very well groomed. The best thing that the device is the automatic document feeder. If copying, scanning or faxing, the document reader and quickly output is equally fast. Examine the included ScanSoft PaperPort, a very nice package with OCR, file, and imaging capabilities. I only use it to scan the reports that are stored in PDF format and you can select the default location. The fax is on the slow side, but if you do not have high volume fax requirements, may not be a problem. The device goes to sleep after 5 minutes and is quiet The output tray is adaquate and keeps the paper spread out on the floor. I had no problem grabbbing out 10 pages. Printing envelopes and single sheets is a breeze after you move the slider to adjust. Paper tray holds 250 sheets, enough for the small office or home. Based on past experience, I expect that the printer will be as reliable as the other Brother printers. Lack of duplex printing is the biggest drawback, but it can be done manually.
