The best customer reviews 37 of 37 people found this review helpful. Value! Brian Lange, I have this printer as a substitute but a complement to the Brother laser printer that I have. Also almost replaced my old Epson scanner, which shows signs of aging. PROS: Incredibly easy to install. I have a Mac, and is basically plug n play like most Mac-compatible products. My operating system recognizes immediately the new hardware and prompts you to download the necessary software, which is very intuitive and easy to understand. The display board is very easy to understand and most of the commands may come from the printer without having to open any program on your computer. For example, to make a single copy of some push "Copy" and will do in seconds. Exploration, the same, but it will automatically open the right program for you after you press the "scan" ... it works in reverse too, so you can always open the program manually. There seems to be a fantastic price-performance is always a 3-in-1 much I have not used the fax yet, but I think it will give the same results as the scanner and printer. Scan quality looks good. I know pretty basic scans to Web-view kind of pictures I think the most appropriate equipment for this purpose. If you blow up stuff for scanning or printing to more air plan, then this is probably not doing it for you. Scanning area is only slightly larger than letter size. Cons: As far as resolution is amazing, this printer does not necessarily know it's standard for copies of documents and to do the job and then some. If you are a printer that gives you really nice shots (something you will use specifically for photo printing) are looking for, you can also splurge and something that gives you amazing resolution. Although this printer is not bad, you're much happier with a little more splurging for DOPE solution. So this is pretty much combo I honestly do not see myself using for printing (like Word documents) as much as I copy and scan functions. But, if you have a small office or even want this for your small business, it seems that the trick for you. At this price, it seems very hard to beat. I have a lot of Canon products now, and they all stood up to her reputation. They are durable and seems to have lasted the whole time without a break. You can probably expect one to last you a while. 23 of 24 people found the following review helpful. Large footprint Decent JS Green Printing This printer is suited for a small home office. It has a simple installation, fast printing of text, and good support network with a couple of convenient scanning options, but takes up much space on your desktop, and may have some problems with Windows XP machines. The printer comes with two standard size ink cartridges (XL versions are available for reorder), a USB cable, telephone cable, and a small sample box of photo paper because I already have a fax printer, I have not looked at the fax functions. Advantages: It's a good specification for this price class. It prints about 8.5 on the scale new printer in black, and about 4 when printing in black. It does not take long for HP inkjet print as some that I've owned - the press will start and finish very quickly. The document feeder will hold about 15 pages or so. The paper path is straight through in that it is quite easy to print on photo paper and Avery because of the smooth paper path. The printer is designed so that input and output trays are very steep angle, so you do not take up much space. The printer has a nice feature where you can press a button and scan a given PC on your home network. The file then goes to a folder on your computer for later use this function works with the ADF or the flatbed scanner, you can easily scan multiple pages. It's a great time.
