Excellent color laser printer for home or small business by David Efflandt An issue paper sensor with my old HP LJ4L gave me an excuse to find a new printer. It is used intermittanly, so I wanted a laser is usually in my basement, so I wanted to network and duplex and color would be not too expensive. After looking at all possibilities, my head spin and I was ready to settle for a monochrome laser printer with networking and duplex. But when I stumbled on the new Lexmark C543dn color laser on the sale, that everything I wanted, a high resolution color laser with duplex and network it. The review I could find was the C543dn of [..] that thought the colors were very vivid. PC Magazine Editors Choice gave similar C544dn faster and a text only criticism of less than 4 or 5 points. It can not be small, but it's not as big as some color laser printers, and I was able to carry and place it on my little outside help OpenOffice Writer does not even list fonts smaller than 6 points, and Word 2007 are not specified fonts than 8 points (if the fonts to shrink). French script can begin to detail at four points to lose, but Arial is fully formed at three points, and Times New Roman is easy to read (with a glass magnifiying) at 3 points, with only a small deviation in the small "e" . As far as I can tell, the text of any normal size is sharp and well formed. When I started to print pictures have colors seem to be alive. But the standard if you "image", select the printer properties is "sRGB Vivid". If you select "Text", select also uses sRGB Vivid, to ensure that you get solid text. The standard "text / graphics" used sRGB displayed on the laws of your computer. These and other color options can be set from the printer's web interface (or print properties menu when printing.) I still find red and blue a little 'heavy for my taste (too orange-red and green to blue), or perhaps not enough yellow color printer so I settled on these changes for today: RGB Brightness = 1 (0 default) = Cyan - 1 (0 default) Magenta = -2 (0 by default) that works for me with the "Text / Graphics" default to print pictures pdf documents natural appearance. I can not select the text if it is only printing text. The setting of the images may be better for color brochure or if you expect the colors. The only criticism that other [..] was the cost of supplies. But Lexmark has introduced a rewards program that gives you all the 10 black or colorless, and a free imagers when you need it. While bringing the cost of the typical of this class of printers to 3 cents / page in black and 15 cents for color. The C543dn is rated for 35,000 impressions per month, but high-yield color cartridges are good for 2000 pages black and 2500 pages and imagers are designed for 30 000 pages. Users of the high volume of business so high that they need something bigger with more capacity tones, but for a casual user, with some adjustments, I am very satisfied with the Lexmark C543DN and I can not imagine what could be better for my needs (as a wireless, which is optional). Comments: Even if you are one of the few people who read and follow the instructions, the printer will check that the packaging when you showed up. The C540 comes with the 1000 pages of notes, C544 is faster and has a USB port to print photos from a memory card or camera without a computer. 30 of 30 people found this review helpful. Almost perfect by A. Bluf Lee: I am very pleased with this printer, although it has some warts. PRO: Excellent, excellent black print quality. High quality color printing. The color quality of photos quite acceptable, despite inkjet paper quality is better. Excellent print speed, when it starts. Duplex printing is very useful. Reasonably quiet. Physical space is less than color laser printers I've seen many ports including USB and network (Ethernet 10/100). However, this printer seems to offer the best overall.
